Renaissance Dance

This course will be a mix of dance tuition and examining the historical evidence whilst we get our breath back. We shall be concentrating upon dance at the court of Elizabeth but will also touch on the evolving dance styles of James I and Charles I’s courts. This is an energetic day as we learn the basics of the Galliard and the Volta as well as the more gentle Pavannes and Almains. We shall also be looking at physical etiquette; bowing, curtseying, how to sit, stand and walk, what to do with your sword and your hat.
