Course Outline:

How to make Tudor and Stuart clothing in the original manner.

We shall be looking at how to draw up a pattern of a doublet or bodice as it was done at the time and how to shape and stiffen the garments to fit.

We will go through pad stitching and bombasting techniques along with how to use a variety of period stiffenings to create the varied shapes of sixteenth and seventeenth century garments for both sexes.

This is a course for anyone who would like to produce an authentic garment, but has ever found it a bit daunting

Course Times :

10am to 4pm

Tea and coffee will be available.
There is a pub two minutes walk away that serves lunches, or you may bring sandwiches.
